Shipping policy
All orders are processed within 5 working days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
There may be potential delays due to a high volume of orders or delays with the postal service, which are outside of our control. Please wait 5 working days from the date of dispatch for the Royal Mail to deliver your item, before contacting Sumptuous Bakery®️ Some areas of the UK may take longer to deliver; especially with the added pressures of Covid-19 and postal strikes.
WE DO NOT DELIVER TO NORTHERN IRELAND OR HIGHLANDS/ISLANDS OF THE UK. PLEASE CONTACT US WITH ANY QUERIES REGARDING POSTAL AREA CODES. YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED IF THIS ISN'T FOLLOWED, WITHOUT WARNING.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
* Please allow 5 days for DISPATCH on all parcels then 5 days whilst in the POSTAL SERVICE.
All parcels are shipped with the below methods due to the product's perishable nature. Other couriers may be sourced if there is strike action underway or imminent. This will be undertaken without any prior warning, and at the discretion of Sumptuous Bakery®️ The most appropriate shipping will be chosen by us, for your goods.
Standard delivery £4.99 Royal Mail Tracked 24 with signature £100 compensation limit take up to 5 working days once dispatched.
We do not ship internationally due to the perishable nature of the items.

How do I check the status of my order?
Please use the, "track my order," page. Should this fail, please refer to the following:
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. Please allow 5 working days for your order to be dispatched, and 5 working days for your order to be delivered - 10 working days in total. Delays may occur at times of high volume or added pressures to the postal service i.e Covid -19, strike action etc.
Shipping to P.O. boxes
We will be using the Royal Mail service, P.O. boxes are accepted, however, these are perishable goods. Prompt receipt is required. Sumptuous Bakery®️ cannot be held liable for perished goods left in a P.O box.
Refunds, returns, and exchanges
Damages and issues
In the unlikely event, you receive a damaged order or have an issue with an order, please contact us IMMEDIATELY upon receipt, via the contact form. We will require:
- Order number, email used to order and the best email to contact you on if different
- A clear photograph of the outer packaging
- A clear photograph of the inner packaging
- A clear photograph of the product itself, CLEARLY showing the damage - within 24 hours of receipt. Sumptuous Bakery®️
won't accept liability after this duration of time. - A thorough explanation of the damage as you understand it
We DO NOT accept liability for any damage that has occurred to the outer or inner packaging by the delivery company; as this is solely for the purpose of product protection, and doesn't affect the edible product itself.
If the edible product itself is damaged, it will be at Sumptuous Bakery's discretion whether a refund or credit will be actioned. Minimal damage to the edible product, that does not affect the function; sole purpose; taste or majority of its integrity, will NOT be refunded. This is a part of the risk of sending edible items through the post. You are agreeing to this risk by placing an order.
Please allow 5 WORKING DAYS for Sumptuous Bakery®️ to review the information, after it has been sent in its entirety - including all photographs as requested above. The 5 WORKING DAYS lead time, will start from the receipt of a thorough description of the issue AND clear photographs as requested above. We will inform you of the refund outcome. Please read refund information below.
We recommend keeping the item until the claim is resolved in its entirety.
Refund information
We will let you know if the refund was approved after a thorough review of the photographic evidence, and damage description. Please allow 5 WORKING DAYS for a decision to be made - this does not include Bank Holidays. The 5 WORKING DAYS lead time, will start from the receipt of a thorough description of the issue and clear photographs as requested above.
If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 WORKING DAYS. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 WORKING DAYS have passed since we’ve APPROVED your refund, please contact us via the contact form. We do not refund any postage or packaging costs incurred, only the damaged goods value. We cannot refund to a different account other than what was used to order. If your details differ, a credit may be raised instead, at Sumptuous Bakery's discretion.

Returns
Certain types of items cannot be routinely returned, like perishable goods (such as food), custom products (such as special orders or personalised items), personal goods and gift cards.
Under very exceptional circumstances, Sumptuous Bakery®️ may need to physically inspect the goods to create a better understanding of the customers concern. In these cases, Sumptuous Bakery®️ will inform you of the next steps. DO NOT send the item back unless specifically told by us to do so. This is not an automatic right, it is at the discretion of Sumptuous Bakery. Please use the contact form to get in touch.
We recommend keeping the item until the claim is resolved in its entirety, as lost evidence will invalidate the potential claim.
Exchanges
We do not accept exchanges due to the perishable nature of our products.
